HOD DESK
Electrical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and it mainly deals with the study of generation, distribution and utilization of electrical power. It also includes the application of electricity and electromagnetism and study of electronic systems like power electronics, drives and integrated circuits. By studying Electrical engineering, Students gain knowledge about wide range of subjects Students can easily get jobs in Govt. and private sector Students can pursue higher education in any of the diversified fields like electronics & computers.
DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2008. The department is committed to improve the quality of education by continuous knowledge enhancement. The department has sufficient number of well qualified, dedicated staff members, who are always ready to help the students in shaping their career. The department has well equipped laboratories to carry out all the prescribed experiments and to verify the concepts studied in theory.
VISION
To be a front runner in providing high quality technical education in preparing skilled engineers with good intelligence and emotional balance, to face the challenges of the real world.
MISSION
To encourage an all-round development of students and enhance their knowledge in new domains of electrical engineering and to help them develop into competent engineers and responsible citizens of the country.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Electricity is indispensable and we cannot live without it. A country’s growth is assessed by its per capita power consumption.Though, India per capita power consumption has increased from 16.3 kWh during 1947 to 917.2 kWh during 2013.It is much lower than US or China, where it is around 15145 kWh and 2942 kWh respectively. India has planned to increase the capacity by 89GW during the 12th plan. Therefore, lots of power generations and transmissions are planned for near future. India is planning major power lines of ±800 kV HVDC lines and 1200 kV AC lines to evacuate the bulk power from North East to Central India. A 1200 kV National Test Station of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) at Bina, M.P. has started functioning from 2012. Almost all the equipments are indigenously manufactured. Apart from this, there is an increasing trend for utilization of Renewable energy. In view of the above, job potentials are increasing and there will be a huge demand for Electrical Engineers in the future.
Companies like ABB, Bajaj International Private Ltd, Crompton Greaves Limited, Siemens Ltd, Reliance Power Ltd, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Coal India Limited (CIL), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Centre for Electronics Design and Technology and Wipro Lighting are the biggest employers hiring Electrical Engineers.
DEPARTMENTAL RESOURCES
The department has well equipped ventilated class rooms with latest teaching aids, supported by eight laboratories with updated hardware and software. The departmental library is available for faculty and students providing access to reference books, text books, journals, e-resources like springer, video Lectures of NPTEL and EDUSAT.

The departmental laboratories have more than 120 Computers supported by a dedicated standby UPS.Each lab is on LAN with student terminal ratio of 1:1. All labs have internet facility with 10 Mbps dedicated line

All faculties are provided with individual chambers with a pool of secretarial assistants to assist the academic and department administration. The department has well maintained rest rooms for girls and boys, facility signboards and purified RO drinking water facility.
